INTERMEDIATE AIRWORTHINESS ENGINEER

Our client, a leader in the aerospace industry, has an immediate opening for an Intermediate Airworthiness Engineer position at our Toronto location, reporting directly to the Section Chief, Airworthiness Engineering Q Series. Your primary responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following :

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Facilitate the investigation and establishment of a corrective action for any potential issues affecting the design compliance and/or safety of the aircraft as a whole or any individuals component, system or structural assembly;
•  Coordinate certification programs for new aircraft types or changes to Type Design (design changes, Airplane Flight Manual, Airworthiness Limitations) with Transport Canada and foreign Airworthiness authorities. This includes preparation of compliance programs addressing various regulatory requirements, negotiate and agreement with authorities where there are areas of differing interpretation of requirements, coordinate visits and meetings with authorities, compile engineering and certification documentation requested by the authorities);
•  Act as a focal for all communication relating to aircraft certification between the company and the Airworthiness authorities;
•  Act as a resource on regulatory and certification matters;
•  Support the Airworthiness Chief/Manager in a variety of Design Approval Organization (DAO), Airworthiness or Product Integrity initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS :

•  Engineering degree (or equivalent);
•  3 years in the Aerospace industry. Knowledge of Airworthiness regulatory requirements and internal company Airworthiness practices;
•  Previous working experience with Transport Canada , Aircraft Certification Branch, is preferred;
•  The successful candidate needs to display strong interpersonal and professional demeanour as a business representative of the company;
•  Candidate must be willing to travel to support various regulatory activities.
