Acoustics & Vibration Engineer

Our client, a leader in the aerospace industry, has an immediate opening for an Acoustics & Vibration Engineer. As a member of the Acoustics and Vibration Group, your main function will be as a technical resource for Analysis, Testing and Documentation in the area of external noise prediction and certification. You also will be involved in supporting the Group's activities in cabin noise and in supporting the resolution of vibration issues.

Responsibilities :

•  Develop and maintain computer programs for prediction of external noise of existing and conceptual aircraft
•  Participate and provide background information for airworthiness and other rule making meetings
•  Use analytical and numerical tools
•  Define test requirements and procedures
•  Participate in acoustics & vibration testing as well as the data collection (ground and flight testing)
•  Analyze noise and vibration test measurement data and produce reports
•  Maintain awareness of rules and regulations pertaining to community and cabin noise
•  Provide support to production, production flight test, customer engineering and aircraft programs
•  If the candidate shows high proficiency for the field of external noise he/she will have the opportunity to pursue becoming a Designated Airworthiness Delegate

Qualifications :

•  This position is at an Intermediate level in Core Engineering
•  The applicant will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
•  The applicant will have 5-10 years of relevant experience and possess an adequate background in acoustics.
Proficiency in preparing technical reports and presentations via office-software is a pre-requisite
•  The applicant must possess excellent communication and presentation skills
•  Knowledge of aircraft certification procedures is an asset
•  Knowledge of aircraft flight performance is an asset
•  Knowledge of FORTRAN and/or C/C++ programming, the UNIX operating system, standard tools including Excel and ACCESS would be a distinct asset
