COMPENSATION ANALYST – 1 YEAR CONTRACT
Our client, an established and growing energy trust company based in Calgary , has need for a Compensation Analyst on a one year contract position.
Reporting to the Manager, Global Compensation and Benefits in Calgary , the compensation analyst will be responsible for supporting the organization in its global compensation initiatives. This includes participating in the development, implementation, communication and administration of Vermilion's various compensation programs such as annual base pay, variable pay and incentive compensation programs.
Strong analytical skills, good judgment and an ability to maintain confidentiality are critical. The successful candidate must hold a bachelor of commerce (or related discipline) with exceptional Microsoft Excel skills. Database management skills would be an asset.
Primary responsibilities include :
Assisting with the planning, developing, implementing and administering Vermilion's annual salary budget;
Preparing reports/analyses to facilitate compensation recommendations;
Assisting with the coordination of annual program timelines and activities with stakeholders;
Participating and analyzing market data and competitive salary surveys;
Monitoring industry wage trends, compensation policies and practices to ensure corporate competitiveness;
Interpreting and analyzing market data factors and influences in order to effectively address critical internal and external compensation issues;
Participating in the company's annual budget and reporting process;
Consulting with HR and line management on the interpretation of compensation policies, compensation issues, market information and annual programs; and
Representing Vermilion at industry meetings and networking with industry peers
